Who am I

I am a qualified Spinal Flow Practitioner, Kinesiologist and Mind, Body Medicine Practitioner.
I use a combination of these different modalities to treat you in a holistic way using both Mind and Bodywork.
My background is in Nursing. I have been a Registered Nurse working in Intensive Care for over 20 years.
One thing that I have learnt from my Nursing years, is how much of the human body and mind we still don’t understand. I find this realization quite humbling. Despite all the technological and medical advances, chronic health conditions are now very prevalent in most developed nations. Mental health diagnoses such as anxiety and/or depression are also quite common nowadays. In the last few decades, we have seen a rapid rise in the emergence of Holistic Therapies as well as Health and Wellness coaches. There is certainly a need for this. Most Therapies and Coaches do sound very promising. I really don’t want to be another Therapist claiming that I have the miracle therapy; I don’t. What I DO know, is that there is an intelligence inside all of us that is always aimed at maintaining balance and geared towards healing. I can help you tap into this intelligence so healing can happen.
What I offer
SPINAL FLOW TECHNIQUE - Releasing Spinal BlockagesI offer Holistic in person therapy sessions using both Spinal Flow Technique and Mind, Body Medicine.
Spinal Flow Technique is a gentle, non-invasive yet very effective healing modality founded by former Chiropractor Dr Carli Axford. The aim of Spinal Flow is to create more ease, health and wellbeing by reducing and eliminating spinal blockages. Spinal blockages are generally caused by three different types of stress; Chemical, Physical and Emotional. These blockages can cause all sorts of symptoms and lead to illness and dis-ease. When we get to the cause of the symptoms by removing the layers of stress held in the body, we allow its natural state to take over and do its job. This is where people start to experience massive transformation on all levels.
Mind, Body, Medicine focuses on how the mind interacts with the body, using both counselling and body therapies to affect the body and the mind. Mind, Body Medicine acknowledges that Mind and Body cannot be separated. One of the main premises in MBM, is that when we are truly authentic and our life reflects what we most value, we tend to experience less stress. The opposite is also true.
Western medicine recognizes that stress is a major contributing factor in the development of illness and dis-ease. In MBM, I focus on your unique life situation and how this may have affected your current health and wellbeing. To do that, we will explore behaviours and beliefs you may have to get a better understanding of what is possibly driving and/or contributing to your symptoms and dis-ease. Once you understand your core motivators in life, you will be empowered to create the necessary changes.

Testimonials
As a carer, I have witnessed the suffering my husband went through since his chemotherapy. None of the painkillers worked for him. For 10 years we went to different hospitals, emergencies and doctors. The answers were always blank. They couldn’t find anything wrong with him. My husband’s quality of life was zilch and it was heartbreaking to see and experience. I think my prayer of desperation was finally heard.
Spinal Flow treatment worked as a miracle for my husband. He can now function normally and live his life to the full now. Thank you Margriet. My gratitude is beyond words!

I have personally gained so much from my sessions with Margriet. She clearly draws from a broad knowledge and skill base and offers deep and gentle insights as well as her spinal flow touch to allow healing both physically and mentally. Her holistic understanding of the interconnectedness of mind, body and soul is profound, and she cleverly weaves her listening skills and thoughtful facilitation of mind growth through her practice.
She is professional yet warm and approachable. I would highly recommend Margriet’s well-crafted and non-invasive practice to anyone!
